Cultural cooperation actions are driven by the French Institute and the French Embassy in Qatar in order to support projects undertaken between French and Qatari cultural institutions. Cooperation is very active between the two countries and revolves around three areas of action: the cultural component, the debate of ideas, and the audiovisual sector. Cooperation for the cultural sector, organized with our main Qatari institutional partners which are Qatar Museums, Katara and Qatar Foundation, covers all artistic fields, and in particular:
- Music with the European Jazz Festival, the music Festival and the concert offered in Katara
- The visual arts with major exhibitions such as the Christian Dior exhibition at the M7, the Paris Moderne exhibition scheduled for 2023 at the National Museum, the Francophone film festival on the occasion of the Francophonie
Audiovisual cooperation revolves around the support granted to Doha Film Institute for the two main festivals organized during the year: "Qumra", a meeting of professionals with film figures, and "Ajyal" devoted to the festival for young people. In terms of debate of ideas, the French Institute regularly offers conferences, round tables and welcomes authors to discuss social issues of interest to the Middle East and the exchange of cultures. One of the highlights of this cooperation is the "Night of Ideas", hosted each year by the Institut français Paris and celebrated around the world.
